Thrall Prince Book 3: Vell or Lonn?

I have two simultaneous threads going in my mind, both competing to be the next book in the Thrall Prince series. I have first chapters drafted for both but I can’t seem to nail down which thread to go with and which should come first:

  • Vell and David – We left them in the forest with the mysterious ranger, the father of Vell’s first child. I am excited to explore what happens next between the three of them, and how they deal with the threat of King Covl hanging over their heads.
  • Prince Lonn – If you remember, he left to go to the outlying world of Tornatt at the beginning of “The Prince’s Fate.” I have a WHOLE adventure planned out for him as well.

Let me know what you think, I would love to hear from you!

  1. Hi Caroline, before reading the excerpt I would have said definitely more Vell and David, but you’ve piqued my interest and I have to say Lonn please!

Love your books, but one small plea please on the spell checker front in relation to ‘free rein’ not ‘free reign’, which is mentioned in the excerpt.

    Kind regards

    Linda

    1. Thank you Linda! I fixed it 🙂 Glad you hear you liked the preview, I would love to follow Lonn’s story but when I sit down to write it, Vell’s story keeps nagging at me, and the same in reverse too! I just need to pick one and write it…

    2. OMG! I can’t believe I’m changing my mine! Hands down that my first choice was Vell and David, but now is definitely Lonn and his familiar! Please! In God speed, I’m breathless with anticipation!

  2. I’d love to hear about lonn. But I really don’t think I could wait patiently for a David and Vell… are we going to get a threesome! But I do feel for David and desperate to know how vell and David can move forward! X

  3. Oh my gosh I love what you’re doing with Lonn here! You’re definitely going to have to alternate chapters from both plotlines now ^^
As for which one should be opening the book… I’d tentatively go for Lonn, because it’s quite usual to have the first chapter of a book be a kind of prologue used to introduce new elements, so it should feel kinda natural this way? Whereas if you start with Vell and David, I fear the transition to Lonn will be more annoying for some readers before they get hooked on his storyline. But that’s only a gut feeling so I’m not sure you should listen to me =’)
Or maybe you’re planning to write a whole book following only Lonn? If that’s the case I honestly don’t know what to advise you!
Any way, this is going to be very interesting ♥

    1. You sound just like me trying to make a decision! I would love to cram it all in one but I decided to focus on Lonn first and come back around to David and Vell. But our old friends will show up in the prologue – I couldn’t leave them alone for too long!

  4. Definitely Lonn.
As much as I can’t wait to find out what happens next with Vell I think this is the right time to hear what Lonn is doing.
Please keep up the great work x

  6. Caroline, I must say, I’m not a general reader of erotic books. I tend to find them over-simple and boring from a fiction perspective.
Yesterday I picked up prince for sale and read it all the way through. Today I read princes feight and read it all the way through. I have not been so caught up in a series for many years. I’d love to know what you are planning for book 3, and I just want it out as soon as possible!

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words, and thank you for giving my books a chance, even if it’s not your usual preference! Book three is coming back from the editor next week and hopefully *fingers crossed* going to be up on Amazon a week or two after that. I really hope you enjoy The Arcane Heart just as much as the first two! Thank you again for being a reader, and for writing me this wonderful note!

  7. Do you know when it’ll be out on audio? As much as I feel that refusing to give us the next enstallment of Vell and David’s story is an act of torture and therefore does definitely count of cruel and unusual punishment for no crime committed, I am still very interested to see what happens to Lonn. Unfortunately, I am blind and have to wait for the audio to come out.

    1. Ahhhh sorry for being so cruel to you! I usually start the audio as soon as the ebook is fully edited, which is coming right up hopefully this week. Depending on the narrator’s availability it can be another 3 months before it’s ready. I will keep you and everyone posted though my newsletter!
